New plant opened in Telangana
India’s uPVC Profiles leader NCL VEKA, with a strong growth in the domestic market, has set its eyes on increasing its exports to West Asia and Africa. It won a small order in Africa recently.
The joint venture between the ₹2,000-crore, diversified NCL Group, Hyderabad, and the $1.2-billion VEKA, Germany, has scaled up its manufacturing capacities with the inauguration of the newly-built ₹50-crore uPVC profile extrusion facility in Medak district in Telangana today.
Turnover target
NCL VEKA is expected to cross a turnover of ₹200 crore in the current fiscal and has strong partnerships with over 100 specialist fabricators to serve the growing Indian market, said Ashven Datla, CEO.
The new plant with a fully automated mixing and conveying system and 18 extruders, was inaugurated by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of the Industries & Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT).
With an investment of ₹50 crore, the facility spread over 1,20,000 sq ft, on 16.8 acres enhances the overall capacity to produce 24,000 tonnes of profiles, translating to the window requirements of 30,000 homes a year.
“We will continue to invest to expand further to 30 uPVC extruders lines to meet the growing needs,” Ashven told newspersons at the plant today.
Andreas Hartleif, CEO of VEKA, said, “We will use the facility to multiply our marketshare in India and export to West Asia and Africa markets.” He congratulated the team and staff for completing the plant in 12 months.
The largest Indian uPVC plant in Mucherla Village, about 50 km from Hyderabad, provides employment to 450 people directly and indirectly.
VEKA is the world’s largest producer of uPVC profiles with manufacturing units in 18 countries, operations in 40 countries and total employees of 5,600.
NCL is a building materials manufacturer with products ranging from cement, boards, windows, doors, paints and plasters and AAC blocks.
The company aims to double the group revenues beyond ₹4,000 crore in the next three years, said K Madhu, Director of NCL Group.
