This storyteller’s life at times looks like pages straight out of a story book. Despite landing a plush job in the IT sector and being on the top of his game, Prakash Dantuluri gave it all up for the love of storytelling. He set up Bulbul Apps in 2015 to bring old and new stories to kids. “When it comes to content, kids are under served. Their content is dominated by big brands but there is so much of regional content waiting to be narrated. This is where I decided to work and hence floated Bulbul in 2015,” he recounts.
He points out that when Bulbul Apps was launched in April 2015 on the iOS platform, it became the numero uno kids app in 14 countries within a week. Though people were downloading the app, the company had still not figured out how to monetize it.
